Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, black sesame seeds, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Step 6: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Step 7: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Step 8: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
To keep your cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They should last for about a week, but I doubt they will last that long! If you want to make them ahead of time, you can freeze the dough and bake fresh cookies whenever you crave them.
