  • 1 cup milk Adds moisture and richness to the batter.
  • 3 large eggs Essential for creating that delicate lift.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt A touch of salt enhances the flavors.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted, adds a lovely richness to the batter.
For the Sweet Strawberry Butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Softened for our sweet strawberry butter.
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries Mashed, providing sweetness and a fruity kick.
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar Helps to sweeten the butter without being overly granular.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract A hint of vanilla adds depth to the flavor.

Equipment

  • Popover Pan or Muffin Tin
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a popover pan or muffin tin with cooking spray or butter to ensure they pop out easily.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and melted butter. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about halfway.
  4. Step 4: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the popovers are puffed and golden brown.
  5. Step 5: While the popovers are baking, prepare the strawberry butter by mixing together the softened butter, mashed strawberries, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Step 6: Once the popovers are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with the strawberry butter for an irresistible treat!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the popovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. The strawberry butter can be kept in the fridge for up to a week.
