Method
 

  1. Step 1: Rinse the shrimp or prawns under cold running water to remove any surface grit.
  2. Step 2: Hold the shrimp or prawn firmly in one hand, ensuring you have a good grip.
  3. Step 3: Using a sharp knife or a deveining tool, make a shallow incision along the back of the shrimp or prawn, from the head to the tail.
  4. Step 4: Gently lift out the dark vein using the knife or your fingers. Discard the vein and rinse the shrimp or prawn again under cold water.
  5. Step 5: Repeat the process for the remaining shrimp or prawns.

Notes

Make sure your knife or deveining tool is sharp for clean cuts. You can devein shrimp a few hours before cooking and store them in the fridge.
