Ingredients

  • Gyoza Wrappers
  • Filling of your choice
  • Water

Method

  1. Step 1: Place a gyoza wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Make sure it’s nice and dry for the best seal.
  2. Step 2: Spoon a small amount of filling (about 1 teaspoon) into the center of the wrapper. Be careful not to overfill!
  3. Step 3: Dip your finger in water and wet the edges of the wrapper. This will help it stick together.
  4. Step 4: Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect—practice makes perfect!
  5. Step 5: Pinch the edges together to seal, making sure there are no air pockets. A tight seal is key to avoid leaks.
  6. Step 6: To create pleats, start at one end and fold the edge towards the center, pinching to seal. Repeat this process along the edge of the gyoza, working towards the other end.
  7. Step 7: Ensure the gyoza is fully sealed and the pleats are secure. You want them to look as good as they taste!
  8. Step 8: Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling until you have a beautiful batch of gyoza. You can even freeze extras for a later treat!

Notes

If you're feeling adventurous, customize your gyoza with different fillings or dipping sauces. Practice your pleating for the best results!
