Ingredients
  

Sushi Rice
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice This forms the delicious base of your sushi rolls.
Assorted Vegetables
  • 1 cup assorted vegetables such as cucumber, avocado, and bell pepper
  • 1 cup tofu cubed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce adds a savory depth of flavor.
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil for a hint of nuttiness.
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar for tang.
  • 1 tsp sugar just a touch to balance the flavors.
Wraps and Serving
  • nori sheets
  • pickled ginger
  • wasabi

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
  2. Step 2: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and sugar. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Step 3: Gently fold the assorted vegetables and cubed tofu into the cooled sushi rice.
  4. Step 4: Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface.
  5. Step 5: Spread a thin layer of the sushi rice mixture evenly over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.
  6. Step 6: Roll the nori tightly from the bottom, using the mat to help shape it into a cylinder.
  7. Step 7: Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife.
  8. Step 8: Serve with pickled ginger and wasabi on the side. Enjoy your homemade sushi!

Notes

Store any leftover sushi rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best enjoyed within a day or two.
