Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Step 2: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and carrots, and sauté until they are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until it’s nicely browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: Stir in the sliced mushrooms and let them cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Step 5: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice with the meat mixture and half of the bechamel sauce. Stir until well mixed.
  6. Step 6: Transfer the rice and meat mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  7. Step 7: Pour the remaining bechamel sauce over the top of the rice mixture.
  8. Step 8: Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the bechamel sauce.
  9. Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Step 10: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
