- Step 1: In a bowl, combine the miso paste, sake, mirin, and sugar. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved and the marinade is smooth.
- Step 2: Place the black cod fillets in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the miso marinade over the fish, ensuring they are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for 24 to 48 hours.
- Step 3: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 4: Remove the fish from the marinade, gently wiping off any excess. Place the fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Step 6: Serve the miso cod immediately, garnished as desired.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven to avoid drying out the fish.
