- Step 1: In a large pot, combine the oxtail and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours. Don't forget to skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
- Step 2: Add the soy sauce, mirin, sake, salt, ginger, and green onions to the pot. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, letting all those flavors meld beautifully.
- Step 3: Next, add the fish cake, carrots, daikon radish, and boiled eggs to the pot. Simmer for an additional 20-30 minutes until the vegetables are tender and everything is heated through.
- Step 4: Before serving, taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, and enjoy the heartwarming flavors!
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the stew for up to a month. Just make sure to let it cool before transferring it to the freezer.
