- Step 1: Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- Step 2: Drain the rinsed rice and transfer it to a rice cooker or a medium saucepan.
- Step 3: Add 2 1/2 cups of water to the rice.
- Step 4: If using a rice cooker, close the lid and select the setting for white rice. For a saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
- Step 5: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 18-20 minutes until all water is absorbed.
- Step 6: Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
- Step 7: Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.
Notes
Let the rice cool completely before storing in an airtight container. It can be refrigerated for up to 4 days.
