- Step 1: Start by rinsing the rice under cold water in a fine mesh strainer until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- Step 2: In a rice cooker or pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. If you'd like, add a pinch of salt.
- Step 3: If using a rice cooker, follow the manufacturer's instructions. For a pot, bring the water to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 18-20 minutes.
- Step 4: Once cooked, remove from heat and let the rice sit covered for 10 minutes.
- Step 5: Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Notes
Leftover rice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container or frozen for up to three months.
